Flu campaign gets underway in Liverpool


Don't put off getting the flu jab image

Liverpool's annual Stay Well This Winter flu vaccination campaign is now underway. Residents who are eligible for the free flu vaccination are encouraged to contact their GP practice or pharmacy now. For most people flu is unpleasant but for some people it is dangerous and can kill.

That's why the flu jab is available for free for people at highest risk, including all pregnant women and people with health conditions, like chest or heart ailments, aswell aseveryone aged 65 and over.

The flu vaccine protects pregnant women and their babies,and is safe at any time in pregnancy.

The vaccine is available as a quick and easy nasal spray for young children aged 2 to 8. Children aged 2 or 3 can get the free spray from their GP. The spray is being offered in all schools to children from reception class through to year 4. If you are eligible for the flu vaccine get it now even if you feel well and healthy - it's free because you need it.
